The members of Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra along with the BC and Glendale College Chorale groups will present Mozart’s classical work “Requiem” at the “Mystic Majestic Mozart” concert on May 22. It will be held at the First Congregational Church on the corner of Stocdale Highway and Real Road.
The piece was the composer’s final work before he died in 1791, leaving its finish to a pupil named Francis Sussmayer. This concert will feature a new version of “Requiem” constructed using Mozart’s unique style.
BC voice teacher Elizabeth Henirichs, Jill Burdick, BC music professor Dr. John Gerhold and Adam Calvillo are the featured soloists for the “Requiem”.
The concert begins at 4 p.m., and a $20 ticket includes a dinner immediately following the concert. While concert-only tickets are $10, student, BC staff and senior tickets are $5. For concert information and tickets, call the Ticket Office at 395-4326.
