Art teacher position temporarily filled

On day one of this fall semester, students attended class to find that there was no teacher for an art class.
According to art professor David Koeth, "We had students coming to class who were highly upset to find that the teacher, Al Davis, had retired and his position had not been filled."?However, according to Koeth, the problem has been temporarily solved, "We have found a teacher to cover the three classes, of drawing, painting, and design," Koeth said.
"If there are any students who have dropped their art class, I urge you to come back, we have solved the problem temporarily," commented Koeth.?BC dean Nan Gomez-Heitzeberg echoed that. "We have hired Cecilia Noyes to temporarily cover the 85 students of drawing, painting and design who were affected," she said.
There were rumors on campus of an art teacher hiring freeze. "Let me make it perfectly clear," said Gomez-Heitzeberg. "There is no freeze on hiring. This was a one day problem of not having a teacher available."?"When there is a vacancy on campus, we have a process to adhere to," commented Gomez-Heitzeberg. "An application has to be submitted to BC's Vice President of the vacancy to be filled."
"The application is then voted on by the administrators, directors, and chairs," commented Gomez-Heitzeberg.?However, the application is not an automatic hired teacher or professor for a position requested. "The vote is then submitted to the administrators, counsels, and BC's president. The application is decided according to the need of our students by BC's president," Gomez-Heitzeberg said.?
