To begin and promote Spring Fling Week, for the next three weeks the Bakersfield College Student Government Association has planned activities geared towards helping charities and organizations that help other people.
They're calling it BC Survivor.
"We picked the survivor theme to show students that we care, not only about ourselves but people all around us," said Sarah Cuellar, activities liaison for the SGA.
Throughout the month, SGA is planning on promoting UNICEF and getting students to join.
UNICEF focuses on the health, education, equality and protection for all children and are actively fighting aids.
This week, SGA will be raffling off tickets to Universal Studios.
If you take a can of food you will receive a raffle ticket to win.
The food will be donated to the Bakersfield Rescue Mission.
Next week a competition will be held to help promote Toys for Tots.
The third week is still under planning, but Cuellar was sure the SGA will be giving away a new laptop or desktop.
"We want students to be aware of the survival that's happening around the world and in our community," said Cuellar.
"We're surviving college to better serve humanity."
