The northwest area of Bakersfield explodes not only with housing development, but with convenient commercial sites that put necessities close to home.
However, if you're not from the northwest, it does not matter. Everything you need and want is still located in one area.

The three-and-a-half block plaza has it all. If there were any rides, this place would be an amusement park.
Best Buy, Linens 'N' Things, Target, Michael's, Kohl's, Foods Co, Petco, KB Games, Babies 'R' Us, all the depots you can think of, all the fast foods and restaurants you can think of, and the best Walmart in Bakersfield are just a few places located in this plaza.
However, I need to give a shoutout to the World Market for its unique food, beer, wine, art, and miscellaneous items from around the world.

Women, if you want unique apparel and got the cash, then this cool place has the items you've been craving. For those who have little to spend, then their upcoming consignments may be of use.

This awesome grocery store is a one-of-a-kind here in Bakersfield. With Albertson's and Von's price bombs, the new Winco's low prices and variety blows the competing chains out of consumers' minds.

Country Boy Drive-In

Low on cash, but still want a tasty variety of food?
Then drive through or stop in here because this place has shrimp, zucchini, burgers, burritos, Chinese, 11 different flavors of shakes, and then some.
A little leery about the outside? Then check out the inside because this place is clean and has real high chairs for the little ones.

If you are bombarded with mundane items and need something unique, then stop at this carpenter's paradise.
Even though it is pricey, the durability and uniqueness is well worth emptying your pockets.
