Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges star in “K-Pax,” a movie that makes people question their own beliefs about whether or not there is life on other planets.
Spacey plays Prot, a man without a past whose strange claim about being from the planet K-Pax puts him in a mental facility. His intelligence and knowledge of the atmosphere beyond human travel baffle doctors and top scientists. Even his own doctor, Marc Powell (Bridges), begins to admit the possibility.
Spacey’s Oscar-worthy performance is so believable that you forget you are in a theater. You feel every emotion that the characters experience. The plot flows smoothly but the length, being almost two hours long, makes you a little anxious for the ending to unfold. Nevertheless, the movie is definitely worth the time.
“K-Pax” is a movie that really makes you think. The ending keeps you pondering the movie long after you’ve left the theater. It’s loaded with a mix of humor, drama and tragedy, keeping you involved throughout the whole film.
