Student reports indecent exposure
A man allegedly exposed himself to a female student while she was walking near the gym on Sept. 6, according to Detective Mary DeGeare of the Bakersfield Police Department. The victim stated she was walking north of the east entrance of the gym when she looked through the glass doors and saw a naked man touching himself while sitting in a chair. She described the man as a white male with blonde hair who appeared to be about 20.
Security officer accused of Weill fan theft
A Bakersfield College security officer was arrested for allegedly stealing fans this summer from the Weill institute, according to the BPD.
John Steven Arias, 32, was arrested in the case. At the time, Arias was a security officer for the college, but according to DeGeare, he no longer works for BC. Officers found two pedestal fans from the Weill institute at his home and charged him with petty theft, she said.
Two unrelated cases of vehicle burglary in the southwest lot occurred Sept. 9 Both students’ cars had shattered windows with CD players and various CDs stolen.
