Being healthy takes over BC campus

Health is in bloom all over the BC campus this month. On March 16th, Bakersfield College gets a double dose, courtesy of Allied Health and the Student Health and Wellness Center.

The Career Connection Fair for students seeking jobs in the health care industry, sponsored by Allied Health, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the south end of campus, in front of the Huddle. Employers from across California will be looking to hire Renegades to fill a variety of medical industry positions.

Also taking place on March 16th is the 1Day Stand Against Tobacco, an initiative of the BC Student Health and Wellness Center in cooperation with the national 1Day Stand Against Tobacco organization.

On March 16th, colleges and universities across America will be participating in a one-day awareness and education campaign promoting the benefits of a smoke-free campus. Events planned for the 1Day Stand include a butt-cleanup, health education presentations, and advice on ways to kick the habit, including information on nicotene replacement therapies.
