Schwartz has consistently improved on his time this year after not competing for about two years. He has qualified for the Southern California Prelims in both the 1,500 and 5,000. He also broke the record in the 1500 with a time of 3 minutes 49.19 seconds and shattered the 5,000 with a time of 14:34.38.
