On Jan, 26, local Disney fans were able to experience the Disney magic right in their backyard as an event called Mouse-Con arrived at the Kern County Fairgrounds for the first time ever.

The event included many people who have worked with Disney like Karen Dotrice who played Jane Banks in the 1964 Disney film, Mary Poppins, Banks is only one of the many Disney legends who was at the event and worked on Disney films. While the event hosted many legends, there were also many places of where you could buy new pins that date way back in the day or even the Funko Pops, Dolls etc.

At the event there was many guests who came dressed up as characters from various films like Beast from the Beauty and the Beast which was released in 1991, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled which was released in 2010, and many more characters within the Disney franchise competing in a costume contest that had cash rewards.

Those who brought their kids were able to interact with those whom dressed up and dreams were made even for the those who had dressed up and got to interact with kids like if they were the real deal.

Guests who went to the event could feel the Disney Magic in the air and was able to take photos with former appliances and artifacts from all Disney Parks from all around the world. This event was able to connect all Disney parks into one place to create a really diverse event for anyone who came to the event. Children were so excited to see the characters in person and get to hug them like if Disney was brought to them. Adults and elders who went could reflect on their past interactions at Disney parks and films in this event that covered anything Disney related. Memories were resurrected and stories were told during this event for the first time ever.

All guests who went had positive reviews on the Facebook page of the event like “It was Great. The booths they had were amazing and they also had some food options there. Will definitely be going next year!!”. Mouse-Con will be back next year on Jan 24th in building #3 for those who could not make it or for returning guests.
