
On Wednesday, April 30, the Performing Arts Combined Concert took place at the Outdoor Theatre from 7 to 9 PM and was organized by the Performing Arts Department.
Gates opened at 6:45, many families and friends attended the concert. The concert started off with one of many ensembles called “Black Bird.”
Another favorite song they played was Bohemian Rhapsody, which is an all-time favorite among many.
Both Bakersfield College and Cal State, Bakersfield then combined their performance and played a really old classic by Beethoven.
The Bakersfield College Jazz Ensemble then came on stage and began with their performance. It began with Jolly Beach by Annie Booth, then followed by Taylor’s Cheesecake, and finally Cubauza.
Throughout the night they played a variety of different genres of music from soothing sounds to upbeat sounds.
There was even some singing throughout the night and one song called, “Love is Here to Stay” was one of the songs that were sang. The BC choir then came out and the first to perform was the day choir and the first song they performed was a special happy birthday song to one of their colleagues.
Towards the end of the show, they played the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song, and finally the band and choir performed together one last time closing out the concert.
The concert went well past its ending time and had so many awesome performances throughout the night. As the concert came to an end many people cheered on as the final performance was ending.
