Bakersfield College was closed today due to a brush fire near the Panorama Bluffs.

The main campus was closed in the late afternoon after smoke began to fill the air ducts of multiple buildings.

The fire, located on the corner of Panorama Dr. and Hayley has burned across 100 acres, according to Bakersfield Fire Department Batt. Chief John Frando.

The main campus will reopen for classes on Monday, Aug 13, according to B.C. officials.
