Our beloved Starbuck on the Panorama Campus is coming to an end and now we welcome a fresh start. Starbucks has been catering delicious and vibrant drinks of sorts of coffees, refreshers, and teas for all students and faculty to enjoy from the beginning to the end of the day.
On the first day of classes on Aug. 26th, many were worried that there was no coffee sold on campus. But no need to fear, change is just the beginning of greatness. Fortunately, BC Panorama campus may be getting a brand-new look and taste for everyone to enjoy and is now “Bakersfield Roast”. Even though Starbuck here on campus may be leaving, the love for coffee will surely flourish and be brand new for incoming students.
Bakersfield Roast employee Alexis Marcum stated, “Our contract had run out and we wanted to find a small coffee shop that was home based.” Many can compare that now the café has a sort of more “homey” and “an actual coffee shop feel” that many students have said.
“When I had first walked in the other day, it sorted looked the same and with the same items, but I saw that many new drinks caught my eye. I pretty much get the same thing that I would get at Starbucks. When I am having a harder day, I like to get a frappe or black coffee and now I get to see more of a variety and it brightens my day when I get to try something new,” stated student.
The Bakersfield Roast has the same coffees and different drinks that are beloved by those on campus but now has a spin and gives everyone a chance to find a new drink that they would love.
“I really liked the lemonades that they offer here, and it has better options to choose from. I really like the idea that I am getting to support a small business like the Bakersfield Roast. It also gives a community vibe that I think that many would enjoy,” said freshman, Andres Rivera.
The Bakersfield Roast had removed and made an actual coffee shop for students to sit and enjoy their drinks.
