The ASBC thanks all the students who participated in the vigil for the disasters that occurred in our country last month. We are now beginning to see things get back to normal.
ASBC would like to congratulate our agriculture ambassadors. They were awarded a second place ribbon at the Kern County Fair for their booth on BC agriculture. The ag students have played a large role in the fair for more than 20 years.
Congratulations and a welcome for Mellisa Renehan. She has been officially elected as an additional associate of justice. Student Court meets every other Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. in the Executive Board room.
The student government recognizes the great support and enthusiasm that our BC cheer team contributes to our football team and pep rallies. Cheer team, your hard work and time practicing is greatly appreciated. Our cheer team is led by Marvin Ramey. This year’s cheer team included Juliet Garo, Kristal Asuncion, Katy Assaturian, Melissa Endo, Amber Jones, Melissa Delehoy, Christina Morales and our mascot, Heather Hunt.
Our annual Homecoming is just around the corner. If this is your first semester on campus, we would like to let you know that this is one of our biggest events on campus.
Homecoming king and queen applications may be picked up in our Student Activities office. But hurry because it all begins on Oct. 22. Homecoming is an all week event full of games and fun.
Our homecoming game is Oct. 27. The Renegade football team will be playing against Santa Barbara City College. This should be an exciting game, so let’s see you there. Use your ASBC sticker to pick up your tickets or they may be purchased in the ticket office.
We are still accepting applications for the following senator positions: bookstore senator, community relations senator, finance senator, historian senator, open forum senator, parliamentarian senator, public relations senator, publicity regulations senator and technological promotions senator.
Pick up your applications in the Student Activities office. This is your opportunity to get involved with the other students on campus and to become an active voice for student concerns on the Bakersfield College campus.
