The Bakersfield College women’s softball team has managed to stay out of last place in the conference (3-7).

BC played LA Valley College on March 19, and barely took home the win 7-6. Even with home-runs from Alex Avila and Vanessa Moralez. BC kept LAVC form scoring until the fifth inning but they scored a whopping five runs that inning almost tying up the game. But BC managed to stay one ahead for the win.

The BC Classic Tournament #2 was played the weekend of the 21-22 of March.  BC’s first challengers was Riverside College. It was a pretty close game up until the fifth inning when BC scored 7 runs to jump way out in front and take the win 9-3.

Saddleback College was next to face the Renegades and its seems like Saddleback had their saddles ready and allowed only one run for BC in the third inning for a massive win 10-1.

Santa Barbara who was schedule to play in the tournament dropped out and was replaced by Hartnell College.

BC play Hartnell on March 22, it was pretty much a neck-and neck game until Hartnell came to bat in the seventh inning and secured the win with four runs to end the game 7-4.

BC played host a doubleheader against LA Mission College on March 24. In a close first game, BC almost allowed LAMC to come back in the seventh inning by allowing LAMC to score five runs and BC barely squeezing by with the win 12-11.  The second game was not so close, LAMC took the win 12-3 to make it a even trade-off.  BC played against Antelope Valley College on March 26, with AVC taking the win 9-6. A rescheduled doubleheader against Santiago Canyon College played on March 28, and BC took the the first win 15-6 , while in the second game SCC managed to clean up their act and take home the win 8-2.

BC will host the next three games, with a doubleheader against Glendale College on March 31, and host a game against Citrus College on April 2. BC will then be traveling to Santa Monica to face off on April 7.
