BC women’s soccer team destroys competitor

The Bakersfield College Women’s soccer team crushed the West LA Wildcats with a score of 5-0 on Nov. 5.

This win moved the Renegade Women’s Soccer Team up in their conference.

During the game, the Renegades attempted 17 goals on the West LA goalie, Jessica Alvarez, but Alvarez only managed to save 12 of the 17 goals resulting in the five-point win for BC.

In contrast, the West LA Women’s soccer team did not get close enough to attempt any goals on the Bakersfield College goalie.

The first goal was scored by Katherine Rodriguez (15), a freshman midfielder at Bakersfield College, in the 25th minute of the first half.

In the first half of the game Amy Montes (12), a member of the competing West LA Wildcats earned a yellow card.

Rhyan Acosta (8), a sophomore forward at BC, scored a goal in the 43rd minute of the game and shortly after she scored another goal and she brought the score to 3-0.

In the second half of the game Nikolle Prather (12), a freshman midfielder at Bakersfield College, helped Acosta score another goal which brought the score to 4-0.

Near the end of the game Aaliyah Cleaveland (21), a sophomore forward at Bakersfield College, scored another goal and she brought the final score to 5-0.
