Renegades lose their first game to Mt. San Antonio

The Bakersfield College football team, now 3-1, garnered their first loss of the season as they headed down to play Mt. San Antonio College in Hilmer Lodge Stadium’s inaugural game. After multiple years without a stadium to call home, the Mounties hosted our Renegades on Saturday, Sept. 25.

It was a tight low scoring affair for quite a bit of the game with long drives and special teams plays, like wide receiver Jalen Blizzard’s 100-yard kick return, accounting for most of the points. The Mounties would come out firing on all cylinders and end up running away with the game behind a 28-0  score in the second half. Turnovers and sacks continue to plague the Renegade offense with six sacks and three interceptions in this game and a jaw-dropping 19 sacks allowed in the last three contests,

The Renegades return home to Memorial Stadium next Saturday, Oct. 2 to host San Bernardino Valley at 6 p.m.
