The Renegades took game 2 of their 3-game series on May 7, staying alive and tying the series 1-1.

Kady Smith took the circle in game 2 for the Renegades.

BC took a quick 1-0 lead in the first when centerfielder Kylie Havens reached base on a single and made her way to third via a stolen base and throwing error. She was driven in with a sacrifice fly to score the first run of the game.

El Camino scored their first run due to a fielding error and a single to right field, which prompted Coach Casey Goodman to call on the WSC’s strikeout queen, Talia Nielsen, to relieve Smith in the top of the third, who got the Gades out of the jam to keep it 1-1.

In the bottom of the 5th, Shelby Buchanan hit a home run to deep centerfield to break the tie, making it 2-1. The Renegades were able to hold on to their slim lead to take game 2 and tie the series.

The definitive game 3 will take place shortly after the conclusion of this one, beginning at 4 p.m. on May 7.
