On Thursday, April 10 Bakersfield College men’s baseball went head-to-head with Glendale Community College.
The game started with right-fielder (11) Alex Dolan from Glendale getting the first hit in the game. The Glendale team went onto cheer for their fellow teammates.
Meanwhile, Bakersfield College started off with a rocky start to the game. Even going into the 2nd inning BC wasn’t doing so well.
As the game progressed, BC was having trouble scoring points as Glendale was defeating Bakersfield College.

With Glendale scoring every then point possible, it was looking like a loss for Bakersfield College. The score was 5 (Glendale) to 2 (Bakersfield) going into the 8th inning and with the last inning coming up. Bakersfield College was still losing to Glendale, the game was not a close game.
With Bakersfield having trouble scoring and not being able to make a comeback in this very competitive game, Glendale is leading the way to victory.
At the end, the final score was 8 to 2 with BC losing to Glendale. As Glendale rushed onto the field to cheer for a victory, BC was suffering a lost game. Safe to say that this was not BC’s day.
Nicholas Martin, a player for the BC men’s baseball team said, “Hitting better and throwing strikes will help them in future games. Being selective with plates and not making routine plays was what made the game difficult for the team.”
Another player Isaac Torres said, “they work 2-3 hours for team practice stressing their hard work and dedication.”
BC men’s baseball may not have won this game, but at least there will still be many more games to come.
