If our administration were really worried about the image BC presents to the public, I would think they would somewhere, somehow come up with $2.98 for a can of silver spray paint for the chain link fence around the baseball diamond. Those old rusty panels along Haley Street look positivly “ghetto” — or at least “Oildale”. Think of what the immediate world thinks as they approach the main entrance to campus and see our lovely wrecking yard decor.
I don’t like having to skimp on photocopies for worksheets for my students, purchase my own classroom supplies, see the Centers go down the drain, and live with any number of other pennywise/poundfoolish measures that directly impact student learning, and then come to work in a slum to boot.
Sometimes a small touch makes a big difference. (Just ask Martha Stewart!)
