The Ovation Theater presents shriek to audiences this Halloween season with their performance of the Evil Dead, showing now through Halloween.

This 2003 rock musical based upon the 1980s horror franchise features all you may need to get in the spooky spirit. With pun-wielding demons and blood effects soaking the first four rows and musical score such as WTF Was That, Look Who’s Evil now, and It’s Time, a power ballad about ash finally gaining the confidence to fulfill his destiny as a chainsaw handed gun wielding killing machine, Evil Dead entertains its audience.

Viewers thought that it was an awesome experience as they dawn their ponchos and smiles covered in fake blood, saying to “make sure you sit in the first row.”

Cody Garcia, co-director and choreographer of the production, stated, “This was a unique experience, even our tech weeks were 2-weeks-long just to make sure we got the blood effects right. While working with blood is tricky, especially when choreographing on top of it, it was a team effort, and I couldn’t be prouder of all the actors, crew, and overall team.”

“I chain. I saw. I conquered,” said Lead actor Jordan Fulmer, who plays ash, a hardware store employee turned demon slaying hero. “I auditioned because I loved the trilogy and watched it a lot in middle school, so when I heard they were mixing my love of horror with my love of musicals I just had to audition. The play is a lot of fun and a great way to get your scream on.”

In addition to the play, viewers can also own their own personal Necronomicon through silent auction starting at $200 dollars.

The Ovation Theater hopes to reach their goal as all proceeds go to stage repair and upkeep and encourages those who have a love for the creepy to come have some fun and to brave the splash zone if you dare.

Tickets start at $45 dollars for general entry, $35 dollars for veterans and seniors, and $25 dollars for students with proof of id.
