Saving money and sparing the air is the goal and The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is offering some helpful trips to turn this dream into a reality.
The first step is to keep your vehicle maintained. A decrease in gas mileage can occur when tires are improperly inflated or when air filters are dirty. Turning off the air conditioner will also save you gas and money.
The next tip is to plan ahead when running errands. Combine your daily tasks and save those extra trips.
Do not top off when you are getting gas. It will not give you more gas, it just backs up into the gasoline pump and gives the person next in line that extra 30 cents.
Finally, when you look for your next car, try to buy one with better gas mileage, or better yet, buy a Hybrid gasoline-electric car.
