Bakersfield College hosted a Transfer Day event where several other universities and colleges gathered in the Renegade Event Center on Monday Sept 11.  This event gave students the chance to explore and learn about opportunities for transferring to other universities and colleges.

The event took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and connected students with representatives from various public and private colleges.  Students who attended were able to have their questions answered and find out more about what each school has to offer.

Each college’s booth provided information to students about what makes their school unique, learn about requirements for transfer, all available resources, and the degrees and programs offered.

Schools such as Arizona State University, University of La Verne, Fresno State University, UC Santa Barbara, Bakersfield College’s own Industrial Automation program and many more were among those at the event.

Prior to entering the event, Bakersfield College students were asked to check in to the event by scanning the QR code outside the entrance and fill out a quick questionnaire.  Afterwards they were provided with a half sheet of paper with guiding questions to ask representatives at each booth to help students glean as much information as possible.

While meeting with college representatives, students could also ask for signatures from each booth to fill the backside of the provided half sheet of paper to enter a raffle put on by Bakersfield College.  Once the raffle sheet was filled out students could return it on their way out for a chance to win prizes just for attending the free event.

California State University Bakersfield was present with the biggest representation and largest number of booths where students could connect with representatives from each of the university’s programs to provide more specific information about majors and minors offered.

For colleges from outside of Bakersfield students could also learn about housing options, on campus job opportunities, and financial aid.

The event hosted by Bakersfield College was a great opportunity for all students to learn about opportunities and resources available to accomplish their education goals after Bakersfield College.
