Bakersfield College Alumni Association had a BBQ Oct. 21 from 12-3:30 p.m. to honor BC Alumni. Food, music, and vendors all came out to celebrate. Tickets for steaks were $25 and hotdogs $10 each. Fruity drinks and other sweet treats were also available to purchase during the event.

BC’s band played right in front of the huddle on-stage. BC alumni band members performed in the event, playing jazzy music.

Student life groups came to show support and allow people to learn about each group.

Villasenor explained how the club uses networking, talking to student life and keeping up with professors to learn about these events to continue to share information about their club.

Financial aid, Student Government, and job programs provided information about their programs as well.

Small businesses and small vendors came to support and brought their products for people to purchase.

An employee at BC that works for the EPOS program Karen Cid was just one of the many small businesses. Cid explained how BC reached out to her to attend this event for more outreach on small vendors and businesses.

“These events are really good way for me to promote my small business,” Cid said.

The event encouraged more people to participate and support the local small businesses that attend and was also an honoring way to show support for all BC alumni.
