The graffiti on campus is a huge issue for some people, but it isn’t an issue that should be at the top of the priority list.
Yes, the graffiti needs to be rid of, but with the budget the way it is right now, I would much rather the see money I spend on tuition go toward more productive things like expanding due to the increase of students coming to BC, funding a boys soccer team, or getting newer textbooks.
It is not like I am in favor of tagging the place like a freeway overpass in Los Angeles it’s just that we should take some free measures first, until we get the money to install security cameras or what have you.
A simple solution is to get people to volunteer on Saturdays to clean the graffiti.
Maybe the maintenance people who are already on the payroll can clean the graffiti.
If the maintenance people have a problem with cleaning the graffiti then I don’t think BC would have a problem taking them off the payroll.
Once we get the money, I wouldn’t mind seeing some security cameras installed or maybe anti-graffiti paint on the walls.
I understand that people want the campus to look nice and that if we don’t stop people who graffiti, they will try and get away with it some more.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t like graffiti as much as the next guy but if it really bothers you that much to where you feel we need to put it on the top of the priority list, then maybe you should deface it yourself.
To all the people that say the graffiti needs to be stopped right now, I can think of numbers of other things that take priority over defacing the campus.
