As is not unusual for anyone in this 21st century, technology has advanced a lot, and social networks are now part of our lives.
In the past people could see everything through TV shows, radio, magazine, and newspaper but now TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook and other social media have taken everything and now people and especially young people do not see the news as they used to see it.
Although it is good that technology has advanced, this also lends itself to the spread of false news. Anyone who has access to the internet can publish or even make videos, even if it is entirely fictitious.
That is a downfall to absorbing news on TikTok or Instagram, because on many occasions false news circulates especially easily on TikTok; and it leads many to believe it just because it is viral or because there are many people talking about it.
This causes people to be alarmed and, in the end, it was just a false alarm, nowadays people pay more attention to what social networks say than to what the actual news outlets say.
Many times, when something has happened, instead of going to a news page, many run over to TikTok and add to their conversation, even if it is not true. Especially younger people believe whatever is on TikTok is true, rather than verifying the information from professionals in the news industry.
For example, the average child or a high school students cannot recognize a news anchor from the local news, they are going to tell you today if you are not on social networks, they do not exist for youth and although not everything is bad too. This could be due that the way the news is broken is not especially interesting and it is easier to watch a TikTok video of 50 seconds or less.
