“Griselda” review

If you have ever watched popular sitcom “Modern Family” (2009-2020) and comedy “Hot Pursuit” (2015), you would remember a famous Colombian American actress and TV personality no other than Sofia Vergara.

In her new highly anticipated Netflix miniseries, “Griselda” it tells the story of Colombian drug lord nicknamed “The Black Widow” Griselda Blanco. It recaps her early life from raising a family to becoming the most infamous Colombian criminal since Pablo Escobar.

The film also stars the like of Karol G, Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, and Juliana Aidén Martinez.

Vergara has embodied a genre that is different from her comedy acting to a dramatic and thrilling work. You will have six episodes to watch this miniseries as you will get enthusiasm with the wonderful cinematography and the locations as you were to live in the early 1970’s.

The character has been represented as a sociopath and terrifying, despite a traditionally comedic actress has proved her versatility to act in a dramatic crime role.

The first 10 seconds begin with the quote from Escobar which quickly draws you in it. The first episode sets the tone for the series, as we see great dialogues from Blanco and a close relationship with her children. The sound, music, production and most importantly the clothing is amazing. However, be aware that it contains adult content, viewers must be 18 years and older.
