Thank you for the opportunity to speak my mind. Please understand that everything I say is done so with great respect for your job. However I do believe that at times some athletes get overlooked. I do believe this happened last year by your writers for the eomen’s soccer team. Yes, I am the extremely proud grandmother of Alexis Goyenche who is back as a Sophmore to play this year. Now you are saying, “oh brother, here’s a grandma bragging on her granddaughter to get something written about her in the RIP.!” Well, Alexus was the only Freshman last year to start in every game, led the defense with very few goals scored against, (other than when the wonderful goalie, Alondra was hurt), . And, was named as a Freshman to the second team All Area Western Conference team! Of course, it would be best to confirm all this and discuss with Alexis’ coach whether he thinks she is worthy of some recognition for these facts? Hopefully he would agree that as one iof the few returning players, Alexis will likely be an integral part of this years 16-17 Gades team. Especially in defense. So… Thank you dear staff writers for having this forum available for us to let you know what we are thinking. Any and all press the Lady Gades can garner is a positive thing! Hopefully it will be a great/fun season.
