Women’s Volleyball continues wins streak against Antelope Valley

The Bakersfield College Women’s volleyball team successfully completed another sweep against Antelope Valley College at home on Nov. 7. The first two games were both won convincingly by a score of 25-10. The final game was a tester but saw the Renegades winning by a score of 28-26.

Lanie Camarillo and Bianca Logsdon lead the Renegades having 11 kills each, Logsdon’s coming on 13 attempts. Freshman Penelope Zepeda racked up a team-high 12 digs while Sophomore Sarah Armendariz recorded 32 set assists.

The sweep of Antelope Valley was the Renegades’ eighteenth sweep of the season and their fifteenth straight win. The Renegade’s impressive season continues as they are once again ranked number three in the state of California for women’s volleyball. Sophomore Sarah Armendariz was also named the California Community College Athletic Association’s player of the week for women’s volleyball for her impressive performances during week 10 of the season.

The Renegade’s final game of the season will be at home on Nov. 9 against number 15 ranked College of the Canyons. This proves to be a good test for the Renegades as they prepare for the playoffs.
