Renegades defeated by Cougars with score of 54-49

The Bakersfield College Women’s basketball team were defeated against College of the Canyons during the Western State Conference on Jan. 23 with a score of 54-49.

The Cougars took the lead against the Renegades the first half of the game. Both teams defense made the game a close call with deflecting rebounds. The Cougars lead the first half with 19-17.

BC forward Brianna Mendez used her height to her advantage and gave the Renegades 11 points and 15 rebounds. However, the Cougars forward Cristian Patron made the most points with 14 helping the Cougars maintain their lead.

The Renegade’s record is now 7-13 and leaving them 0-1 in the conference play.

The Renegades will play on the road against West LA on Jan. 30 for their second conference game.
