The Bakersfield College Softball Team defeated Porterville College Pirates twice on Feb. 4 with a score of 20-5 in the first game and 11-1 in the second game.

The team scored five home runs in the 1st inning of the first game and continued to play well until the Pirates managed to get their first run in the 3rd inning.

By the end of the 3rd inning, the BC Renegades had scored 19 runs. They capped out their score of 20 runs by the end of the 4th inning.

At the beginning of the second game, the Renegades scored 2 runs within the 1st inning. Then, they reached their ending score of eight runs by the 3rd inning.

The Pirates made their first score in the 4th inning, but the Renegades stopped the Pirates’ their score to 11 runs and ended the 5th inning with an 11-1 score winning the game.

“I think it is just our hitting,” softball coach Casey Goodman said. “Our offense was good today and just putting the ball in play.”
