Brynn Galindo knows exactly where she is going in life and how she will get there. The 17-year-old East High senior maintains excellent grades in the honors program and wants to work in the fashion industry.
“I like runway fashion, even though I don’t wear it. It’s innovative and I have a taste for beauty that’s against the norm,” said Galindo.
Galindo was inspired to take this class after taking journalism last year and becoming good enough to compete and participate in Bakersfield College’s Journalism Day. She is convinced that she will be a better writer by the end of the workshop and said she may consider writing in fashion magazines instead of designing the newest fashions.
“I am blessed with writing skills and I need to preserve them,” she said.
She likes to hang out with her friends, travel and meet new people because she said that she “gets bored easily.”
“I also have an interest in psychology and astrology is a microcosm of psychology. I don’t like people to judge me when they don’t understand me, so astrology and psychology help me understand other people,” Galindo said.
She said that her most embarrassing moment is being called “Bryan” by awards announcers.
“From kindergarten to eighth grade, I always got awards for my grades and every time they always called me ‘Bryan,’ but in high school I got over it.”
