Lauren Davis is what most people would call a “people person.”
“I like school because I get the chance to meet new people,” she said.
She thinks the best thing about school is making friends and the worst thing is finding out your grades at the end of the year.
Davis is 14 years old and now a sophomore at Foothill High School.
“I like the school but the rallies suck,” she said.
Davis plans on going to college after high school and majoring in journalism. She wants to attend NYU to pursue her goal of becoming a reporter. She chose NYU because she feels the school has the best to offer.
Davis was born in Bakersfield and has never lived anywhere else.
“Bakersfield gets boring,” she said.
In her spare time she loves to listen to music.
She joined the workshop to learn more about journalism so she can use it in her career.
She enjoys the news, even when tragedy occurs, such as Sept. 11.
“It was sad but at least we got something out of it,” Davis said. “The U.S. became much stronger and it brought all of us closer together as a nation.”
