Bakersfield High School senior Eva Morales embodies the expression, “Big things come in small packages.”
She also is the cream in the family’s Oreo. Morales has an older brother and a younger brother – Chris, 21, and Nick, 16 – although sometimes they treat her like she’s the youngest.
“I love hanging out with my family,” she said. “I am especially close to my mom.”
Morales is active in varsity cheerleading at school, with many memories coming from the sport.
“My most memorable moment was sophomore year during a football game. I was cheering, and there were two stunts in the back of me that fell, so my backspot fell, and I ended upside down,” she said. “The crowd was laughing at me, and now, people always tease me about falling, but it wasn’t my fault.”
Morales keeps from going crazy by surrounding herself with friends, particularly, two people that are always there for her and are always honest.
“I’ve been friends with Mallory since second grade,” she said.
Her maturity can also be displayed in her long-term relationships. She has been going out with her boyfriend, Greg, for 16 months. He is a perfect example of Morales’ ultimate pet peeve: people who talk with food in their mouths.
Morales has goals in her life. She wants to grow up to be a social psychologist.
“I want to help people,” she said.
With her effervescent personality and outgoing smile, she already is.
