Bakersfield College Campus Safety announced that a possible gas leak had been reported on the BC Panorama Campus just after 9 a.m. on July 20 in the Campus Center Cafeteria/Dining Area. Everyone was asked to evacuate ALL buildings on the Panorama Campus immediately.

A later update advised everyone to stay clear from the Campus Center area until further notice and to evacuate to an outdoor area.

PG&E came to campus and shut off the source of the gas leak. PG&E cleared for all staff, students and faculty to return inside, and all face-to-face classes on the Panorama Campus resumed instruction by 10:30 a.m.
