Renegade’s baseball wins over LA Pierce

The Bakersfield College baseball team hosted LA Pierce Brahmas at home on Tuesday, April 9th which was the last of a three-game series against the team and came away with a victory with a score of 12-6.

LA Pierce was on the board quickly in the first with a run scored by the first up to bat for the team. The Renegades retorted later in the inning with a double that scored BC shortstop Kamron Willman and BC infielder Hector Ruvalcaba. BC infielder Landon Kauk scored later on an RBI single to center field.

Kauk later contributed another RBI in the second inning to score BC catcher Ryan Dickerson. Then in the bottom of the third, BC outfielder Ashanti Ross tripled to score BC infielder Matt Patton and BC outfielder Will Reynolds. Willman then had an RBI single to bring Ross home. In the fourth, Will Reynolds had a sacrifice fly to score Williams and extend the lead to 8-1.

The Brahmas exploded in the fifth, scoring four runs to shorten the Renegade to 8-5. In the following innings, the game rounded out to a 12-6 Renegade win. The Renegades improve to 20-13 overall and 12-4 in conference with the win.

The Renegade baseball team then hosted LA Valley College at home on Thursday, April 11 in a conference matchup and came away a 3-0 victory.

The game remained scoreless until the fifth when infielder Hunter Adams cranked a triple to bring home both BC infielders Hector Ruvalcaba and Landn Kauk. BC outfielder Will Reynolds then had an RBI that brought Adams home.

These ended up being the only scores in all nine innings. With the win, the Renegades improved to 21-13 overall and 13-4 in conference.

The Bakersfield College baseball team then hosted Reedley College Wednesday, April 17 and came away with a 4-0 victory.

BC shortstop Kamron Willman drove in the Renegades first score on a grounder that brought in BC outfielder Ashanti Ross from third and yet another score was added with a run in the bottom of the fourth off another grounder that scored BC outfielder Will Reynolds.

In the bottom of the eighth, a hit by Willman scored catcher Isaac Ramos and Ross. With the win, BC improved to 24-13 overall and remains 14-4 in conference.
