Adventist Health Bakersfield Medical Center received a generous donation of surgical masks by a local business on Wednesday March 25.

Umi Sushi, a local sushi restaurant located in Southwest Bakersfield has donated 1,000 new surgical masks to Adventist Health Medical Center.

Working team member, Lisa Willet self-handedly donated the surgical masks to Dr. Ronald Reynoso who will be distributing the masks to the hospital staff.

All surgical masks will be used by the hospital staff.

During the coronavirus outbreak, many essential resources are vital to keep in stock in the medical field such as sanitizers, toilet paper, and surgical masks.

Many other items have also been donated to Adventist Health. Local community members are also donating food such as pizza, donuts, and more.

“In this time of uncertainty, people are trying to show their appreciation for those working in the medical field,” Megan Simpson, Public Information Officer, said.
