GET Bus’ 50th anniversary swag

Madeline Ruebush, Reporter

The GET Bus Party Patrol van set up their first “pop-up” at BC near the bus stops on April 26 in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

They set up booth at the BC Transit Center and gave away fun prizes and a sack lunch that included a hot dog, a bag of chips, and a fun treat.

Those that interacted with the booth were handed a scratcher to find out what their prize would be. Prizes included cool tote bags, money, small trinkets, and gift cards. A big prize winner earned a 50-dollar bill according to GET Bus’s Instagram.

The booth was also giving out information about the buses and answering people’s questions. This included a Spring 2023 GET Bus pocket map and a flier explaining how students can get free bus-passes.

The GET Bus Party Patrol van will be popping up in the area all year long, holding events, giving out fun prizes and playing music all in celebration of servicing Bakersfield since 1973.
