It was all fun and games at BC’s Delano campus Sept. 26. in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, staff held a Library Loteria event.

Festivities were held inside the library of the new Learning Resource Center. Students and staff together enjoyed the afternoon event with nachos and drinks.

Prizes for winning games included an assortment of BC swag like flash drives, cups, and car flags.

Loteria is similar to bingo in that players use a game board and markers. In Loteria, the caller pulls a card from a pre-shuffled deck. The cards display names and illustrations sometimes within a particular theme. Players have corresponding pictograms on their game boards.

Traditionally beans or rocks have been used to track spaces.

The game set used for this Library Loteria is called Millennial Loteria. It brought many laughs with its nostalgic humor. Some of the board spaces are “La Hashtag”, “La Selfie” and “Las Bitcoins.”
