On March. 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., a queer herstory trivia took place at the Levan Center, which was held by the Lavender Initiatives. The event held a trivia game, which featured queer women throughout history due to it being women’s history month.
Very few people showed up to the event; however, they carried on with the game. To play the game, everyone had to hop onto the website Kahoot to join the trivia match. The game consisted of 40 questions and whoever were top 3 had a chance to win a prize. The prizes were either three books and/or a word search about the LGBTQ+ community.
Throughout the trivia game, the questions consisted of queer women that had shaped society and civil rights. One woman who was mentioned in the trivia game was Sally Ride. She was the first women in space and first LGBTQ+ astronaut.
Towards the end of the game, the last questions determined the winners. It was prefect due to there was only three being people that showed up to the event, but why did only three people show up? It is because BC didn’t advertise it as much, like they did for other events that takes place on campus?
Before everyone left, they were able to grab some cool LGBTQ+ freebies such as pins, flags, and bracelets. They gave out some flyers about upcoming events such as the March 26 Latinas in Business Leadership Panel at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
