The month of November 2025, was one of the best months for music in a long time. More specifically, the come up of the underground and the bigger influences that are now getting their flowers.
A few albums worth mentioning from this month include, “Riviera” by The Hellp, “LUX” by Rosalía, “EUSEXUA Afterglow” by FKA twigs, and my personal favorite, “Stardust” by Danny Brown.
This month was also quite single heavy. A lot of the artists are currently releasing singles for upcoming albums, and these singles served as sweet tastes of new larger pieces. Some singles I devoured this month entail “Do It” by Underscores, “Crystallise My Tears” by Oklou, “Chains of Love” and “House featuring John Cale” by Charli xcx, “Ugly” by The Garden, “Fuck My Computer – Frost Children Remix” by Ninajirachi, and lastly “Century” by EsDeeKid.
Charli xcx delivered two delicious singles for her upcoming album which will be the accompanying soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of “Wuthering Heights.” The ever-evolving band The Garden gave an exciting sneak peek into what the next album’s sound will be, and the new underground scouse rapper EsDeeKid who recently has been thrown under the spotlight released a successful single for his fans.
Despite the great creatives who are actively cranking out music for us listeners, AI is still inserting itself into this world. This month, songs that are fully AI have topped charts such as Billboard’s top 100. The AI composition “Walk my Walk” by Breaking Rust, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales Chart. The song also garnered over 3 million streams on Spotify. The collective is aware that these songs are AI slop, so why is this happening? Why are humans listening to music that no other human has composed? As of right now we don’t really know, maybe because it’s a new category that AI is touching, or maybe because people want new sounds. If this is the case, the artists that I have mentioned in this are all people whom I believe to be pioneering a new age of music, without the assistance of AI. If your ears crave original and unconventional sounds, I would suggest you indulge in the works mentioned above.
