Send Help, a 2026 film produced and directed by Sam Raimi, best known for directing the 2002-2007 Spider-Man trilogy, has surprised viewers with a horror-comedy consisting of nearly two hours of beautiful scenery and psychological manipulation.
This film, while slightly unsettling, has comedic undertones helping balance the gore and awkward interactions between the characters Bradley Preston, a pretentious boss and Linda Liddle, his not so timid employee. The movie has some unexpected humorous scenes making tense moments lighthearted for the main characters and audience.

Rachel McAdams, best known for her iconic roles in movies such as “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook,” took an interesting route for her role as Linda Liddle, the lead antagonist of the film. McAdams perfectly portrayed a mix of workplace fatigue and chronic isolation for this role. Linda, a widow – with too much alone time – is the overachiever of the office with a promised position as vice president of the company by Bradley Preston’s father. Linda’s breaking point begins when Bradley ignores his father’s word and announces his golf buddy as new vice president.
Alongside Rachel McAdams, co-star Dylan O’Brien plays his role as the typical nepo baby taking on his father’s company. His ego and inner-frat boy cause Bradley Preston to overlook Linda Liddle and her abilities, not only in the workspace, but beyond that even when stranded on an island.
This riveting story of the boss/employee dynamic stranded on an island trying to survive keeps viewers intrigued yet disoriented. This film takes interesting twists and turns – some to your stomach – but nonetheless ends with a pleasant surprise.
