Bakersfield College’s volleyball team solidified a victory against Sierra with the final score being 3-2 following a loss to Feather River on Aug. 30. The Renegades got their first victory of the year and did it in hardworking fashion in their brand-new gymnasium.

In the Renegades first matchup of the day, they competed against Feather River, where they lost in four sets with the following scores: 25-14, 25-15, 25-9, 3-0. Alexandra Watts (#9) once again lead the team in eight kills, while both Amanda Zepeda (#1) and Maya Barron (#19) tied each other for 2nd most kills (8) in the game.​​ Taylor Drake (#16) led the team in assists and 4 digs this matchup making a solid impact for the Renegades. Renegades fought hard but unfortunately fell against Feather River with a final score of (3-0).

In the Renegades second matchup of the day, they officially got their first win of the season and added a W to the record books. The Renegades fought down to the wire and ended up getting the victory with 3 out of 5 sets in their favor. The following scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-27, 25-12 and 11-15. Anahi King (#16) led the team in 10 Kills for the team meanwhile Chloe Lopez (#2) led the team in Digs with a count of 16 and making it a huge impact for the Renegades.

Head coach, Penelope Zepeda stated that the team showed great signs of playmaking and sportsmanship while competing in the game and is proud of her team for getting the victory and hoping this leads forward into the rest of the season. The Renegades are looking to continue to gain their momentum for the remainder of their season.
